With summer just around the corner, you are probably already making a list of great family beach vacations for this summer. If you have always headed to your cottage on the lake, or to your in-law’s place in Florida, it might be time to try something new. There are several great family beach vacations that can give you and your family a boost as the summer begins, and maybe even create a new favorite vacation destination.
Here are a few spots that will start your summer off right.
- Atlantis: Paradise Island, Bahamas. Paradise Island offers fun, sun, and great vacation packages that cater to everyone in the family. Atlantis boasts more than 10 pools, several miles of beaches, and a 141-acre waterscape packed with water slides, river rides, and much more. For guests that stay at the Atlantis hotel, the Aquaventure water park offers complimentary admission, and more than a dozen swimming areas for both children and adults. Between the Earth and Fire Pottery Studio, Dolphin Cay, and a day at the spa, you will find enough activities to keep your children occupied, and also treat yourself to some much needed relaxation. Room costs can be as little as $251 per night for a family of four, but for a luxury suite, you may have to spend upwards of $800.
- Lowes Coronado Bay: Coronado, California. If you are looking for a domestic getaway, you may want to head out to the less crowded, but equally stunning Lowes Coronado Bay Resort. Located in Coronado, across from San Diego Bay, this resort is packed with spa and fitness centers, a teen-only food bar, golf greens, pools, beaches, and spas. You can drop your kids off at the Kid’s Club where they can enjoy scavenger hunts, sand castle building, and a host of other activities while you de-stress in the steam and sauna rooms, or treat yourself to a day at the spa. The hotel also offers tickets to local attractions, such as the famous San Diego Zoo, Legoland, and SeaWorld. Resort prices start at $259 for a pool view room. A deluxe suite can be up to $900, but you could score a deal if you book early.
- Cape May, New Jersey. Cape May offers a more affordable, adventure-friendly location for families to spend their summer vacation. Cape May is located along the Jersey Shore at the southern tip, close to the point where the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay meet. The quaint town houses a number of sightseeing opportunities, including the main harbor, the Nature Center of Cape May, and Cape May Point State Park. The Nature Center has an aquarium, theme gardens, nature trails, hand-on activities for children, and a panoramic tower view of the entire harbor. Cape May Point State Park gives families a chance to make the most of their New Jersey travel and explore three different hiking trails, historic sites, beaches, and coastal dunes. You can find a room for $179 a night for the whole family at the Congress Hall hotel, and apartment suites at nearby resorts can be up to $257.
These are only a few of the thousands of vacation spots you may not have considered. Whether you are looking for NJ vacations, ones in the Caribbean, or in Florida, the key to great family beach vacations is to find one that works for the whole family.
