On a regular basis, people throughout the world travel for business, leisure, or a combination of both. This is made possible due to the variety of landing facilities located in the United States and its territories. These consist of over 19,000 airports, heliports, seaplane bases, and other types of facilities. While some of these are private facilities, others are available for the public.
While not all states have national airports, there are currently 31 states that do. There are 378 primary airports that provide scheduled commercial air service to accommodate both United States and foreign airlines. In addition to Chicago O’Hare International and John F. Kennedy International, Los Angeles International is another airport that is familiar to both domestic and global travelers.
On a daily basis, over 3 million people travel throughout the world by commercial aircraft. Domestic air travel is also common, of course, and in 2012, 33% of the trips taken by business travelers were by air.
Shuttle service to the airport and other destinations is often provided by limousine companies. Approximately 400 million passengers are transported to-and-from their destinations by these vehicles every year. While there are different types of limousines, the larger stretch limousines are usually able to transport 16 to 20 passengers. This will, however, depend on the type of limousine.
Currently, the United States has roughly 7,000 stretch SUVs and 8,000 non-stretch SUVs licensed to provide both limousine and charter services. Furthermore, the United States has 16,000 vans and shuttle buses primarily designated for charter bus rental. It’s interesting to note that American and Canadian motorcoaches provide 631,000 trips every year.
Fortunately, there are a variety of transportation services available to both business and leisure travelers. A charter bus rental, for example, is a reliable and comfortable means of transportation for individuals and groups to attend special events, participate in multi-day bus tours, or to provide other opportunities for travel.
It’s also important to note that when travelers choose motorcoaches, they are contributing to the environment and reducing congestion. When a motorcoach is at full capacity, 55 vehicles are potentially removed from America’s roads, highways, and freeways.
